Interview with Christine Ryan, The Sedona Life Coach
Spirituality
I grew up in a big catholic family in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI called Glendale. So our family was fun, interesting and chaotic. We lived right by the river near a wooded area so I was able to spend a lot of time in nature and to this day I love being outside connecting with the earth. I went to Catholic grade school, and at this point in my life I call myself a recovering catholic.
I have always been a spiritual person, as a child, it came out in devotion to Jesus and religious laws. As I became older, I intuitively understand God to be much, much, more than the Man with the white beard and The Book of Judgement that I had been taught about. Being a curious person, I just started reading things I could get my hands on. For example, I remember finding a book about Yoga on an old bookshelf in our basement when I was about 10 yrs. old. I read the whole thing and even tried some poses. And then, around 11 years old, I received a spontaneous vision of the Ying/ Yang which completely restructured my view of God and spirituality.
I have been an independent student of Life.
Each of my siblings and I received an small inheritance from a great aunt who had passed away. My sister, now known as Ranjita, and I used our inheritance to buy a big clunky Chevy work van, that we named Van Morrison. We decked it out with a bed, curtains and carpet and hit the road together. We experienced an amazing Odyssey trip where we traveled across the United States. That's how I ended up in Sedona; that opened my mind and my spirit to the wide opportunities and possibilities that the world has to offer.
Passion
My early career was in education - specifically, early childhood and then administration for over 10 years. A big part of my education was about psychology, sociology and family dynamics. I spent a large part of my career guiding and educating parents and families. It eventually led me to start parent education workshops and eventually a parent education newsletter called ABC’s for Parents. These experiences were a foundation for me in advising people on ways to bring harmony and ease into their lives. In my personal life, I am often the go to person for friends and family to share their problems and accomplishments.
I’ve always been a naturally curious person, which they say is a prime attribute for a effective life coach.
I’ve always been drawn to being a person of service. All of these together led to me starting my own practice working with individuals and couples.
I am most grateful for having worked with a spiritual and transformational service here in Sedona called Sedona Soul Adventures. Between clients with them and my own private clients I have worked with hundreds of people to change their lives for the better.
Experience
Throughout my adult life, I have regularly received ongoing education, and have been involved with numerous trainings, workshops, personal development retreats and certification programs. These have all been essential in contributing to my professional career as a life coach. I believe the most important factor that has been invaluable to the wisdom and knowledge that I share with others is my own personal experiences. Surviving and thriving throughout my own life journey made me go deep within to develop self awareness, understanding, tools and practices that I now get to share with others. I have cleared and healed childhood wounds, learned how to co-parent in a blended family, challenged entrenched beliefs and survived the loss of an adult child. I’ve had a long successful relationship, been through divorce and faced multiple new beginnings and it’s ugly step-sister- “fear of the unknown” many times. These and many other experiences have developed the empathy, compassion and awareness that make my services effective for others.
I am constantly doing inner work and spiritual training through workshops, classes, books, articles, and research that enrich me and my work.
I am a ICP (International Coaches Federation) Certified Life Coach. I bring all the wisdom, knowledge, tools and practices to guide my clients to health and fulfillment. I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them let go of negative beliefs and patterns and replace them with positive and more conscious behaviors. Life coaching is not therapy. Where traditional therapy focuses on the pain points, life coaching is designed to acknowledge, heal and move forward in a healthy way. My coaching meets each person where they are. I use emotional clearing and healing practices, counseling, action plans and tools to create transformation from pain and blocks to the life each one is seeking. My approach is based on the fundamental truth that we all have the answers within us. I guide my clients to connect with their own innate wisdom.
Who Needs a Life Coach?
Everyone can benefit from working with a life coach. Whether one is feeling stuck, needing stress relief, has lost their purpose, have challenges in your relationships or deal with anxiety and depression. Our blocks and limiting beliefs reside in our “blind spot” our unconscious. We experience the result of these beliefs in our life and relationships but can’t see the full scope of them ourselves. An intuitive life coach can help you identify those negative, unconscious beliefs and replace them with positive and self loving beliefs and practices to create the life you want. As a transformational life coach, I have a very practical approach for helping people move from where they are unhappy or stuck to where they are at peace and in alignment with their souls’ journey.
I offer a unique combination of intuition, experience and practicality to my clients.
As a certified Spiritual Response Therapy practitioner, clients benefit from this powerful emotional clearing work. This process really clears deep wounds, patterns, false beliefs, and imprints that block a person’s positive potential and happiness. The intensive training for this practice has required me to do a lot of my own personal healing and growth.
I am proficient at using kinesiology (muscle testing) and EFT (tapping). Some of the intuitive tools I use are a pendulum, the runes and divination cards. I do vision board therapy, aromatherapy, crystal healing and chakrah meditation and future visioning hypnotherapy. I meet each person where they are and customize the sessions to address their unique issues to take them to the next level.
